Mary Virginia Beard

Mary Virginia Netherton O'Guinn Beard, 62, died Sunday, May 9, 2004 at her residence on Holmes Branch Road in Williamsport. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m., Thursday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Joe Rhodes officiating. Burial will be in Adkisson Cemetery. The Lebanon, Tennessee native was the daughter of the late Jessie Lee Netherton and Nora Lee Keith Netherton. She was first married to Bobby Gene O'Guinn then later married Douglas W. Beard who preceded her in death April 2, 1994. She was a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors include three daughters, Mary Lynn (Richard) Butler of Nashville, Bobbie Jean (Robert) O'Guinn Nevis of Lawrenceburg, Crystal (Mike) Quillen of Columbia; two sons, Tommy Lee (Mary Lou Brooks) O'Guinn of Columbia, James Donald (Amanda) O'Guinn of Brewton, Alabama; two sisters, Nanny C. Howell of Fairview, Floy Hughes; two brothers Buford Netherton, Joe Netherton both of Franklin; step-children, Eddie Beard, Sr. of Lawrenceburg, Rita Cole and Anita Beard Hawks both of Columbia; nineteen grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Ted Griggs, Robert Nevis, Charlie Burns, Mike Quillen, John Scales and John Beard.
