Mrs. Mary Tom Weaver Belew, 89, long-time resident of Overton Drive, died Monday, May 9, 2005 at Life Care Center. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m., Thursday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Chris Shrader and Mickey Shrader officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Wednesday after 4 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Columbia Academy, 1101 West 7th Street, Columbia, TN, 38401. She was married to George Belew who preceded her in death in 1982. She was retired from the Maury County Board of Education and was a member of Temple Baptist Church. Survivors include two daughters, Joann Demastus of Lawton, Oklahoma, Mary (Butch) Shrader of Columbia; nine grandchildren, George Belew, Jimmy Belew, Kenny Belew, Scott (Lydia) Belew, Jeanette (Phil) Pena, David (Denise) Demastus, Billy Wayne (Carol) Demastus, Mickey (Stephanie) Shrader and Chris (Michelle) Shrader; seventeen great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one son, James Belew and two grandsons, Timothy Belew and Steven Belew. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Richard Howell, Doug Demastus, Clayton London, Rick Clawson, Bobby Neese, Hubert Perry, Gene Hight, Bill Wilson, Dr. Linda Monroe, and the staff and friends at Life Care Center.
