View Funeral Webcast Mrs. Mary Ann Dowell Blalock, 62, retired employee of Sherwin-Williams Company, died Tuesday, April 14, 2009 at her residence on Joe Brown Road. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 A.M. Friday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Bobby Sampson and Jack White officiating. Burial will be in Ring Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late John Dowell and Mary Inman Sharpe Dowell. She was a 1964 graduate of Columbia Central High School. Mrs. Blalock was a lifetime member and Past President of the Maury County Arts Guild, where she was Crafts Chairperson for thirty years. She was a member of New Lasea Church of Christ. Survivors include her husband of forty-three years, Richard Travis "Sam" Blalock of Columbia; four sons, Ricky (Jenny) Blalock, Freddy (Tina) Blalock, Jimmy (Annie) Blalock, all of Columbia; Jereme "Beezer" (Kelly) Blalock of Dickson; one sister, Harriett Bolton of Columbia; and seven grandchildren, Abbie Blalock, Shawn Blalock, Kaitlyn Blalock, Kara Blalock, Aaron Blalock; Kaitlin Alderson, Sam Blalock. She was preceded in death by one brother, John Sharpe and two sisters, Dorris Walker and Micky Cook. Pallbearers will be Mark Cook, Jeff Bolton, David Walker, Edward Harmon, Randall Lee, and Wayne Cook. Honorary pallbearers will be Will Billington, Larry Brown, David Arms, Gregg Grissom, Anthony Nichols, Phillip Brown, Ronnie Ring, John Waldrum, Tom Bills, Bobby Farmer, Curtis Hendricks, members of Old Lasea Church of Christ, and members of New Lasea Church of Christ.
