Mary Ella Mae Hill Chumley, 79, homemaker and resident of Jennings Street, died Thursday, November 27, 2008 at Williamson Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Kenneth Jarratt officiating. Burial will be in Cross Bridges Cemetery. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Charlie Hill and Minnie B. Corley Hill. She was a member of Cross Bridges Baptist Church. Survivors include a son, Sam (Connie) Chumley of Bon Aqua; a daughter, Judy King of Franklin; grandchildren, Teresa (Greg) Holmes, Wade (Chantel) Chumley, Sonia Word, Trena (Jeff) Gray, Amanda (T. J.) Newhouse, Jason Bragg, and Christopher Jenkins; ten great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Eugene Chumley January 16, 2000; a son, Austin Chumley; grandson, Dustin Chumley; and sister, Elizabeth Nance. Active pallbearers will be Paul Nance, Josh Nance, Ricky Sims, Sammy McCandless, Steven McCandless, and Allen McCandless. Allen Dowdy will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
