Miss Mary Elizabeth Davis Miss Mary Elizabeth Davis, 89, former resident of Parkview Apartments on West Seventh Street and retired operator and bookkeeper for Maury Poultry & Egg Company, died Sunday, April 18, 2004 at Maury Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Ted Burleson officiating. Burial will be in the Lynnwood Cemetery in Giles County. The Giles County native was the daughter of the late Ozro Kenneth Davis and Ola Forsythe Davis. She was a 1934 graduate of Columbia Central High School and attended Columbia Business College. A long-time member of the West Seventh Street Church of Christ, she taught Sunday School and was a former Sunday School Class Supervisor and member of the Tuesday Ladies Bible Class.Survivors include two brothers-in-law, Albert Compton and Floyd Pinkleton, Jr. of Columbia; two nephews, Kenneth (Frances) Compton of Columbia and Stan Pinkleton of Knoxville; three great-nephews, Jason (Sheree) Compton, Jon (Lana) Compton and Jordan Compton of Columbia; a great-niece, Joanna Compton (Steve) Huff of Lynnville; a great-great-nephew, Ethan Allen Compton of Columbia; a great-great-niece, Summer Compton of Columbia; numerous cousins.She was preceded in death by two sisters, Jean Compton and Jackie Pinkleton.Active pallbearers are Stan Pinkleton, Kenneth Compton, Jason Compton, Jon Compton, Jordan Compton, Steve Huff and Bob Compton.Honorary pallbearers include Glenn Stevenson, Tuesday Morning Ladies Bible Class, Virginia Parks Bible Class and Elders and Deacons of the West Seventh Street Church of Christ and cousins.
