View Funeral Webcast Mrs. Mary Alice Whiteside Delk, 93, resident of Columbia, died Thursday, September 14, 2023 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, September 18, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home. The family will visit with friends Sunday, September 17, 2023 from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Delk Cemetery. She was born December 6, 1929 to the late Herbert Brown Whiteside and the late Elva Iris Smith Whiteside in the Hampshire Community of Maury County. She worked as a presser for River Valley Mills and seamstress for Dixie Manufacturing. She was a member of Spring Hill Church of Christ. On October 7, 1950 she married John A. Delk, whom preceded her in death on March 31, 1997. She is survived by her daughters; Elizabeth Ann Kelley and Alice Cathy (Nelson) Webb; a grandchild, Cory Lane Primm; a sister, Sara Whiteside Farris; two brothers-in-law, Joe (Mable) Delk and Charles (Larissa) Delk; and a special friend Mary Lynn Woodard. Active pallbearers will be her nephews. Honorary pallbearers will be the Elders, Deacons and members of Spring Hill Church of Christ, the Ladies Bible Class, NHC Maury Regional-Grove, MRMC Third West, NHL Home Health staff, the Hampshire High School Class of 1948, Kami (Billy) Thurman, Neil (Elizabeth) Webb, Shane Delk, Suzann Sumerel, Carris Palliative Hospice staff, Dr. Amit Choksi & staff, Dr. Cesar Cordona, Dr. Temujin Dinaram, Nelson Webb, and Ricky Primm, neighbors of Neapolis. The family suggests memorials to Spring Hill Church of Christ, Columbia Academy, or the American Cancer Society.
