Mary Perry Dowling

Mrs. Mary Everette Perry Dowling, 87, retired since 1972 as bookkeeper for Porter-Walker Hardware and resident of Crestland Court, died Saturday, September 25, 2004 at NHC Columbia. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Rev. Eugene Barrett officiating. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Seth Everette Perry and Elizabeth Hill Perry. She was a graduate of Columbia Central High School and Columbia Business College. Mrs. Dowling was a long-time member of the Methodist Church. She was married August 25, 1944 to Jerry J. Dowling who preceded her in death September 23, 1991. She was also preceded in death by four sisters, Helen Pender, Elizabeth Wharton, Eleanor McNeill and Elva Shofner. Active pallbearers are Rick Hinson, Cody Hinson, Edgar Deason, Jim Bratton and Patrick Fennelly. Honorary pallbearers include Alvin Perry, Glenn Perry, Matthews Abernathy, Ray Hamilton and Mack Harris.
