MRS. MARY ETTA PRATT ALEXANDERMrs. Mary Etta Pratt Alexander,81, died Saturday, December 21, 2002 at her residence on the Santa Fe Pike. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 2:30 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Brother Artie Collins and Brother Bob Brewer officiating. Burial will be in the Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Highland Rim. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com.The Giles County native was the daughter of the late James Roy Pratt and Amna Sneed Pratt and a member of the Philippi Church of Christ.On January 28, 1944 she married Homer Alexander who preceded her in death March 28, 1982.Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Larry Chunn of Columbia; a grandson and granddaughter-in-law, David and Melissa Gipson of Bell Buckle; two great-grandchildren, Hannah Gipson and Emily Gipson; sisters and brothers-in-law, Peggy and Billy Walters, Nell and Jim Blackburn, both of Columbia; brothers and sisters-in-law, James Pratt, Charles Robert and Patricia Pratt, Dean and Clara Pratt, all of Columbia.Active pallbearers are Dennis Alexander, Wayne Alexander, Tony Blackburn, Jason Carpenter, Eddie Pratt, James Pratt, Jimmy Pratt, Greg Walters. Honorary pallbearers include Wilson Miller, Odell Chunn, Chet Chunn, Bob Dugger, Ed Murphy, Tommy Carpenter, Alan Faulkner, Leslie Goad, Buddy Hood, Dr. Gibran Naddy, Dr. Anu Mann, Dr. John Simmons.
