Mary Etta Hardison Derryberry, 70, retired cafeteria manager at Saturn and resident of Lawrenceburg, died Saturday, October 10, 2020 at St. Thomas West in Nashville. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 2:30 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Jones Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 4:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. Born March 3, 1950 in Maury County she was the daughter of the late Robert Raymond Hardison and the late Zelphia Jane Black Hardison Pogue. She married Joseph Herman Derryberry who preceded her in death in 1996. Mrs. Derryberry loved her family, cooking, reading, crocheting, cross word puzzles, animals, and watching John Wayne movies. Survivors include her daughter, Margaret (James) Secrest of Lawrenceburg; son, James Wilburn Derryberry of Lawrenceburg; and granddaughter, Christina Secrest. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Mary Zelphia Secrest; and brother, Coleman Hardison. Active pallbearers will be James Secrest, Kenny Davis, Chad Derryberry, Tommy Derryberry, D.L. Millage, and Anthony Armstrong.
