Mrs. Mary E. Flowers, 86, retired employee of Maury Regional Hospital and resident of West 12th Street, died Monday, August 21, 2006 at Life Care Center. Funeral services will be conducted at 12 noon Thursday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. David McGregor and Rev. Calvin Lunn officiating. Burial will be in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Wednesday from 4 - 8p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to McCains Cumberland Presbyterian Church, P.O. The Hickman County native was the daughter of the late William Clarence Johnson and Mary Ella Moore Johnson. She was educated in the Shady Grove Community but lived most of her life in Maury County. She was retired from the Dietary Department of Maury Regional Hospital. Mrs. Flowers was formerly married to John A. Flowers and was a loving mother to her two children. She was a member of McCains Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Survivors include her daughter, Pamela Flowers Sealy of Columbia; her son, John Ray (Regena) Flowers of Hohenwald; two sisters, Mildred Johnson and Robbie (Gerald) Weatherford both of Columbia; one brother, Harold (Era Dell) Johnson of Columbia; sisters-in-law, Roberta Johnson, Frances Clendenin, Gloria Flowers, step-granddaughter, Kelly Dye; step-great-grandchildren, Lauren Dye, Darrell Dye, Hayden Dye; and extended family members, Mary Jane Scott, Kristy and Devin Dean, Savannah Dean, Morgan Dean and Thomas Scott. She was preceded in death by two brothers, W.A. Johnson, Paul Johnson and a son-in-law, Johnny Sealy. Pallbearers will be Gary Weatherford, Ricky Johnson, Kenny Johnson, Wayne Williams, Jim Young, David Heflen, Joe Dobbs, Bernie Caperton, Randy Carroll, Steven Williams and Larry Crews. Honorary pallbearers will be Joe Hopper, Glen Pierce, Thomas Scott, Greg Clendenin, Lee and Martha Williams, Dr. William A. Robinson, II, members of McCains Cumberland Presbyterian Church, and past and present employees of Johnny's Food Market.
