Mrs. Mary Lou Harris Gaskell, 82, longtime resident of Santa Fe, died Tuesday, March 14, 2006 at Helen Keller Hospital in Sheffield, Alabama. Funeral services will be conducted at 12noon, Friday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Pastors Cecilia Hasting and Larry Hasting officiating. Burial will be in Santa Fe Cemetery. The Burkett, Texas native was the daughter of the late J.B. Harris and Ione Adams Harris. She was the former wife of the late William B. "Billy" Gaskell. Mrs. Gaskell received her nurses training through Maury County Hospital where she was employed as EKG Director and Head of the Coronary Care Unit. She was a member of Acts Christian Center. Survivors include one daughter, Virginia Gaskell (Danny) Potts of Santa Fe; two sons, Charlie (Rebecca) Ferguson, Kenneth Ferguson both of Killen, Alabama; two brothers, Leonard (Rhetha) Harris, John Harris both of Coleman, Texas; eight grandchildren, Scott Rivers Ferguson, Jamie Lynn Ferguson, Gretta Mae Ferguson, Benton Thomas Ferguson, Angela Renee Ferguson McClanahan, Chad Rivers Ferguson, Sara Elizabeth Gaskell, Julie Estes Young; and three great-grandchildren, Carter McClanahan, Lucas McClanahan and Westin McClanahan. She was preceded in death by a son, William Thomas Gaskell and a brother, Billy Harris. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Carl Gardner, Dr. William Robinson, Dr. William Fuqua, Dr. John Simmons, Dr. Charles Albert and the EKG Department at Maury Regional Hospital.
