Mary Sue Steward Goodman

Mary Sue Steward Goodman, 71, employee of Wal-Mart in Nashville, died Friday, July 21, 2017, at her residence on Steam Mill Hollow Road in the Water Valley Community. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 10:00 A.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Eddie Rogers officiating. Burial will follow in Santa Fe Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Walker Jackson Steward and the late Eunice Westmoreland Steward. A loving and wonderful mother, grandmother, and sister, Mrs. Goodman cherished time with her family. She will also be remembered for being a strong and hard-working woman. Survivors include her daughter, Stacy Bennett of Columbia; grandchildren, Samantha Stewart and Christopher Bennett, both of Columbia; sisters, Ann Babcock of Franklin, Melvie (Roy) Potts of Santa Fe, Barbara Chessor of Columbia; Kathy Steward of Santa Fe; brothers, Everett (Clara) Steward, Charles Steward, Kenneth (Pam) Steward, all of Santa Fe; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by brothers, Ronnie Steward, Dean Steward, Bob Steward, and R. W. Steward; and infant sister, Rebecca Steward. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
