Mary Elizabeth Delk Hill

Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Delk Hill, 82, longtime resident of Campbellsville Pike, died Friday, February 16, 2007, at Life Care Center. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Wendell Robinson and Joe Delk officiating. Burial will be in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Maury County Boys and Girls Club, 210 West Eighth Street, Columbia, TN 38401. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late John G. Delk and Ruth Hoover Delk. She was married to Loyd Dudley "L. D." Hill who preceded her in death on April 28, 1995. She was a 1942 graduate of Hampshire High School. Mrs. Hill was a very loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a member of Graymere Church of Christ. Survivors include one daughter, Beth (Joe) Whitehead of Brentwood; two sons, Steve (Ouida) Hill and Mike (Sherrie) Hill, both of Columbia; two brothers, Charles (Larissa) Delk and Joe (Mable) Delk, both of Columbia; two sisters-in-law, Alice Delk and Mildred Coffman, both of Columbia; one brother-in-law, Roy (Sarah) Hill of Columbia; eight grandchildren, Chris (Leigh Ann) Hill, Ginnie Hill, Delk Hill, Anderson (Meredith) Hill, John Hill, Laura Hill, Mary Lauren Whitehead, Jack Whitehead; and three great grandchildren, Kylie Roberts, Clark Hill and Katie Grace Hill. She was preceded in death by one brother, John A. Delk. Pallbearers will be Mike Hill, Steve Hill, Joe Whitehead, Chris Hill, John Hill, Anderson Hill, and Jack Whitehead. Honorary pallbearers will be Sara Butler Posey, Mildred Coffman, Cindy Coffman, Lucille Watson, Doris Romine, Lavern Alexander, Frances Logston, Mattie Pye, Al Pye, Roberta Swafford, Brenda Richardson, Tracey Gant, Sharon Sims, Britney Gant, Linda Colley, and Gladys Williams.
