Mary Hobbs

MRS. MARY HOBBS Mrs. Mary Ball Hobbs, 95, former employee of Tennessee Knitting Mills and Dixie Manufacturing, died Wednesday, October 30, 2002, at Maury Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 10:00 A.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Jerry Elder and Myron Keith officiating. Burial will be in Shane Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Friday from 4:00 - 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Claude P. Ball and Maude Porter Ball. She was a 1927 graduate of Culleoka High School. Mrs. Hobbs was a member of the Church of Christ and the Franklin Home Demonstration Club. Survivors include her husband, Revis V. Hobbs of Columbia; one daughter, Mrs. Julia Fay (Ronnie Bryan) Lane of Hohenwald; one son, Robert Edgar Hobbs of Brentwood; six grandchildren, Dr. Lydia Fay Lane Dworkin, Mrs. Mary Melissa Lane Metcalf, Anna Elizabeth Lane, Alex Bryan Lane, Miss Michelle Lea Hobbs, Mrs. Suzanne Lynn Hobbs Werthan; five great grandchildren; and two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Thelma Ball, Mrs. Bertha Ball. Pallbearers will be Alex Lane, Bryan Lane, Jeremy Werthan, Seth Roberts, Joel Dworkin, and Rob Metcalf.
