Mary Frances Owens Hosford

Mrs. Mary Frances Owens Hosford, 87, former resident of West 10th Street, died Thursday, February 21, 2008 at Rosewood Manor. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Rev. William Owens officiating. Burial will be in Santa Fe Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 1:00 p.m. to service time at the funeral home. Notes of sympathy may be sent to www.oakesandnichols.com. The Davidson County native was the daughter of the late Robert Patterson Owens and Ferbie Sullivan Owens. She worked in the laundry at Hillview Nursing Home for a number of years and was a member of the Church of God. Her husband, Richard Wiley Hosford died June 4, 1982. Survivors include five daughters, Barbara (Walter) Jackoboski of Marco Island, Florida, Wanda (Charlie) Workman of Culleoka, Betty Blade of Culleoka, Sue (Roy) Wales of Decatur, Alabama, and Lisa (Rodney) Butts of Nashville; five sons, Raymond B. Owens of Smyrna, Richard (Dorine) Hosford of Columbia, Loyd Hosford of Santa Fe, Jackie (Elaine) Hosford of Columbia, Gary (Lisa) Hosford of Columbia; a sister, Mildred Scott of Franklin; fifteen grandchildren, Twilla Owens, Kelley Owens, Candice Owens, Bryan Haley, Dennis Haley, Lori (Chuck) Brown, Sharon (Preston) Warren, Rye Hosford, Michael Blade, Josh Blade, Jason Wales, Jamie Wales, Kimberly Hosford, Mona Lisa Butts, and Billy Butts; ten great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Hester Doyle and Izella Tidwell and three brothers, John Owens, Joe Owens, and Lonnie Owens. Active pallbearers are Matt Brown, David Brown, Joseph Warren, Jason Wales, Michael Blade, Josh Blade, Rye Hosford, and Billy Butts. Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Linda Monroe, nurse-tech, Lisa and other staff of Rosewood Manor.
