Mary Katherine Notgrass Jewell

Mary Katherine Notgrass Jewell, 93, retired press operator for Dixie Manufacturing and resident of Pickens Lane, died Sunday, July 8, 2018 at NHC Maury Regional Transitional Care. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 3:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Reverend David Buffaloe officiating. Burial will follow in Santa Fe Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 1:00 P.M. until service time at the funeral home. Condolences maybe extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. Born October 18, 1924 in Maury County, she was the daughter of the late Ulna Notgrass and the late Mattie Bell Alderson Notgrass. On August 13, 1945, she married Raymond Austin Jewell who preceded her in death October 26, 1975. She enjoyed reading, cooking, and spending time with her family. Mrs. Jewell was of Baptist faith. Survivors include her daughters, Linda Pinkard; Barbara Hooten both of Columbia; grandchildren, Jeff (Jessica) Hooten; Melissa Johnson; Teresa Toone; Karen Toone; great grandchildren, Eric Street; Jordan Bowman; Joshua Jones; Chaz Wright; Ethan Johnson; Kalyn Johnson; Hanna Johnson; and niece, Freda (Larry) Jones. She was preceded in death by her sister, Virginia Notgrass McGowan; brother, John Thomas Notgrass; and nephew, Leslie Paul McGowan.
