MRS. MARY ANNA KINGMrs. Mary Anna Duke King, 80, retired owner and operator of Shoe Mart in Columbia and resident of Locust Street in Mt. Pleasant, died Tuesday, December 31, 2002, at Maury Regional Hospital.A graveside service will be conducted Friday at 2:00 P.M. at Polk Memorial Gardens with Rev. Terry Ailor officiating. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 2:00 - 6:00 P.M. and Friday from 12:30 - 1:30 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home. King who preceded her in death in 1976. Mrs. King was very active in the Democratic Party and was a member of First Baptist Church in Mt. Pleasant.Survivors include one daughter, Sue England (Kenneth) Turnbow of Hohenwald; one son, Robert Jerome "Bobby" (Libby) King of Lawrenceburg; five grandchildren, Duke Turnbow, Duchess Parker, Heather Calhoun, Michelle King, and Chance King; five great grandchildren; six nieces and nephews, Barbara Pugh Brown, Freddy L. Pugh, Michael Thomas Duke, Brenda Duke McClellan, Lisa Duke Scarbrough; and several great nieces and great nephews.She was preceded in death by one son, Tommy England; one sister, Louise Duke Pugh; and one brother, William Thomas Duke.Pallbearers will be Mike Hughes, Steve Kelley, David Greenfield, Donnie Davis, Henry Williams and Michael Pinto.
