Mary Elizabeth Lindsey, 83, of Concord, NC, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 8, 2023 in Concord, NC, ending her battle with Alzheimer's. A devoted soul, Beth’s life was a testament to her unwavering love for the Lord. Her days were marked by faith, kindness, and a gentle spirit that touched the hearts of all who knew her.
Beth was born March 2, 1940 in Columbia, Tennessee to the late Harry Napier and the late Willie Jordan Napier, where she grew up and married her beloved husband, Gerald Douglas Lindsey in 1961, and raised her two children, Lee Ann and Keith. Beth enjoyed playing bridge with friends, spending quality time with her cherished family, and planning and decorating new homes built by her contractor husband. On any given Thursday afternoon, Beth could be found wrapping wedding gifts at Ye Peddler Gift Shop in downtown Columbia, where she loved working part time for many years. She loved traveling, and she and Gerry took many trips and cruises during their 56 years of marriage.
They both left their birthplace of Columbia, and moved to Charlotte, NC in 2003 to be closer to their children and grandchildren. While living in the Charlotte area, Beth was actively involved in her church community and participated in several Bible studies, and showed a deep love for her Savior.
While preceded in death by husband, Gerald Douglas Lindsey, and sister, Martha Bryant.
