View Funeral Webcast Mary Lorraine Gifford Paul, 89, resident of Columbia, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, January 21, 2023 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 11:00 A.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Reverend Tim Paul officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 4:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. Born April 14, 1933 in Maury County, she was the daughter of the late John Brice Gifford, Sr. and the late Bessie Lucille Grubbs Gifford. On October 1, 1949, she married Marion Hamlin Paul who preceded her in death November 4, 2009. Many years ago, she worked for McClellan’s Department Store. Mrs. Paul was an avid reader and enjoyed crossword puzzles. She was a charter member of Harvest Baptist Church. Survivors include her children, Larry Paul of Columbia; Ron (Jane) Paul of Culleoka; Joel (Felecia) Paul of Laceys Spring, Alabama; Michael (Kellie) Paul of Summertown; Ginger Paul Adams of Mt. Pleasant; son-in-law, Roy Brady of Columbia; sister, Audrey (Carl) Nielson of Summertown; sixteen grandchildren; thirty great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; brothers-in-law, Donald (Carolyn) Paul, Gerald Paul; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Kay Brady; brother, J. B. Gifford, Jr.; and sister-in-law, Jean Gifford; brother-in-law, Billy Hord. Active pallbearers will be her grandsons, Jeremy Paul, Nathan Paul, Daniel Paul, Jon Brady, Geoffrey Paul, Michael Paul, David Paul, Houston Paul, Rowdy Paul, and Brian Adams.
