Mary Love Winchester Dodson, 95, former longtime resident of 5th Avenue in Riverside, died Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 2:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Doug Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Love Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. Born January 18, 1924 in Maury County, she was the daughter of the late Esborne S. Love and the late Oma Isabel Shelby Love. She was a retired seamstress from Dixie Manufacturing and several years ago, she assisted her son in operating The Tanning Hut. She enjoyed working in her yard and one of her greatest joys in life were her grandchildren. She was a member of the Berea Church of Christ. She is survived by her daughter, Lynda Winchester (Austin) Davis of Mt. Pleasant; son Charles Lee (Michelle) Winchester, Jr. of Shelbyville; grandchildren, Terri Lynn Bean, Carter Lee (Melissa) Cheek, Marshall Scott Cheek, Kyle Reese (Lynette) Cheek, Charles Lee (Jennifer) Winchester III, Jared (Kendall) Shreve, Colton (Samantha) Shreve; fifteen great grandchildren; eight great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews including a very special niece, Patty (Mike) Anderson and their children Natalie Anderson and Eli Anderson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husbands, Charles Lee Winchester, Sr. in 1974 and Smith A. Dodson, Jr. in 1982; brothers, Charles Love and Kenneth Love; sister, Rachel Butler. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
