Click to View Mary Helen McMeen Video Tribute Miss Mary Helen McMeen, 16, sophomore at Columbia Academy and resident of Osborne Drive, died Tuesday, February 14, 2006 as the result of an automobile accident. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at Graymere Church of Christ with Wendell Robinson, Dr. David Craig and Rusty Pettus officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Memorial Park. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 3 - 8 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home and Friday from 12:30p.m. until time of service at the church. A lifelong resident of Maury County she was the daughter of Mark and Joie McMeen of Columbia. She was on the President's Honor Roll and had won numerousl academic awards. She was a member of the Lady Bulldog's Basketball Team, a football cheerleader and played in the C.A. Band from 5th grade through the 9th grade. She was a member of Graymere Church of Christ where she became a Christian on her 10th birthday. Survivors in addition to her parents include paternal grandparents, Charles W. and Helen H. McMeen of Franklin; one aunt, Mrs. Geni (Doug) Powers of Cookeville; one uncle, David (Patti) Mangum of Brentwood; two cousins, Elam Mangum and Daniel Mangum both of Brentwood; and special friend, Eddie Butler of Columbia. She was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Gene and Mary Jo Mangum. Pallbearers will be Eddie Butler, Will Davis, Jaime Carroll, Daniel Wakefield, Jonathan Forsthoff, Justin Pullen and Brock Wright. Honorary pallbearers will be the Sophomore Class at Columbia Academy, the Lady Bulldog Basketball Team, the Columbia Academy Football Cheerleaders, and the youth group at Graymere Church of Christ.
