Mary Ruth Davis Parrish, 87, homemaker and resident of Hemingway Drive, died Thursday, April 6, 2017 at NHC Maury Regional Transitional Care. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 3:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Hugh McHenry officiating. The family will visit with friends Monday from 1:00 - 3:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late John Barkley Davis and the late Hattie Ora Brown Davis. Earlier in life, she was a great seamstress, a wonderful cook, she enjoyed reading, country music and square dancing. She was a former member of the Dixie Diamonds and The Wagon Wheelers. Mrs. Parrish was a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors include her husband of 66 years, James Harold Parrish of Columbia; children, Teresa Ellen Parrish Flach of Nashville; James Walter (Rebecca Connell) Parrish of Columbia; grandchildren, Gretchen Flach (Aaron) Hampton of Columbia; Sarah Rachael Flach Blue of Spring Hill; James Paul Parrish of Columbia; great grandchildren, John Jurel Blue IV of Spring Hill; Jesse Hampton of Byrdstown; Marianne Ruth Hampton of Columbia; Luke Arnton Hampton of Columbia; Kathryn Grace Hampton of Columbia; sisters, Glenna (Thomas E.) Johnson of Spring Hill; Lois Bryant of Iuka, Mississippi; brothers, Aubrey Davis of Columbia; Massie (Doris) Davis of Columbia; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Mildred Adkins, Madeline White, Bonnie Brumley; and two brothers, Louie Thomas Davis and Johnie Milton Davis.
