Mary Gayle Powell-Wilkinson, 69, of Spring Hill, lost her battle with cancer July 18th, 2017. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 10:00 A.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff Kane officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Friday from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury county native was the daughter of the late Paul F. Taylor and the late Geneva Dell Fitzgerald Taylor, both of Columbia. She was a 1966 graduate of Columbia Central High. Gayle was the former co-owner of Respiratory Plus, a home medical equipment company and Golden Ivy Antiques. She shared her passion for antiques with her brother, the late Jim Fitzgerald. She leaves behind her partner in life and business, Daniel Lane Wilkinson, and her daughters Rhonda (Cliff) Walker of Franklin and Monica Powell of Lewisburg. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren, Emma Kate Walker and George Walker; niece, Rachel (Matt) Reed; nephew, Jason (Cassi) Fitzgerald; great nieces and nephews; many cousins, friends, and her spoiled pet dogs, Conrad and Chelsey. In addition to her parents, Gayle was preceded in death by husbands William Robert "Butch" Young and Henry Eugene Powell, her daughter Paula Yvonne Young, grandson, Samuel H. Walker, and brother Jim Fitzgerald. Pallbearers will be Jason Fitzgerald, Mike Meade, Nick Ramey, George Walker, Tommy Dooley, and James Wheatley. Honorary pallbearers are James Gary, Frank Church, Joe Fulkerson, Enoch George, Clifford Johnson, the staff of Respiratory Plus, and the wonderful caregivers at Caris Hospice.
