Mary Elizabeth Ervin Reaves

Mary Elizabeth Ervin Reaves, 82, former resident of Nashville Highway, died Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at Life Care Center of Columbia.A graveside service will be conducted Friday at 11:00 A.M. at Rose Hill Cemetery. Born April 28, 1935 in Limestone County, Alabama, she was the daughter of the late Willie M. Ervin and the late Myrum Davis Ervin. On January 31, 1953, she married W. C. Reaves who preceded her in death September 2, 1969. For several years, she was a seamstress for Publix Shirt Factory and retired from Maury Regional Medical Center. She enjoyed sitting with the elderly. Mrs. Reaves was a member of Jackson Heights Church of Christ, where she taught children's Sunday School. Survivors include her son, Patrick Reaves of Columbia; daughter, Mary Ellen Young of Columbia; and four grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Malcom Lee Ervin and John W. Ervin; and sister, Virginia Lovell.
