View Funeral WebcastMrs. Mary Frances Burns Stanfill, 73, retired seamstress, housekeeper, and resident of New Highway 7, died Saturday, June 18, 2016 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 2:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Brother Andrew Allen and Brother Rick Points officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Monday from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. and Tuesday from 12:00 - 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Robert Maxie Burns and the late Margaret Louise Shouse Burns. For several years, she was employed at Weather-Tamer and later was employed by Dr. & Mrs. Victor Beck as housekeeper. She enjoyed growing flowers and was an excellent cook. She was a member of Johnson Chapel Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband whom she married December 31, 1982, Carl Wayne Stanfill of Columbia; daughters, Vickey (Chris) Lynn and Jeannie (Tim) Laws, both of Santa Fe; step-daughter, Carlene (Mark) Landers of Columbia; sister, Shirley Patterson of Columbia; brother, R. M. "Buddy" Burns of Santa Fe; half-sisters, Linda (Harold) Riddle and Polly Price, both of Summertown; grandchildren, Brandi (Chris) Roland of Columbia; Billy Ryan Peden, Destiny Laws, and Chase Laws, all of Santa Fe; step grandchildren, Jesse Hughes, Carly Rae Mendes, Precinda Mendes, Joseph M. Mendes; step great grandson, Huston Tripp Hughes; several nieces and nephews; and a special great nephew, Jacob Sargent Patterson. She was preceded in death by siblings, John William Burns, J. B. Burns, Esterline Tiller, and Girline Stanfill. Pallbearers will be Jason Burns, Mike Johnson, David Burns, Johnny Cates, Chris Lynn, and Tim Laws.
