Mrs. Mary Blalock Stewart, 65, retired from International Comfort Products and resident of Snell Road in Lewisburg, died Saturday, January 7, 2006 at Marshall Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 2:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Rev. Dwain Brown officiating. Burial will be in the Rock Springs Cemetery. The family will visit with friends after 4:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Notes of sympathy may be sent to www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Enoch E. Blalock and Mary Lucille Hines Blalock. She was a member of the Rock Springs Baptist Church and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary in Lewisburg. She was married June 22, 1957 to Thomas Leslie "Jimmy" Stewart, Jr. who died June 30, 1993. Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Tammy Hatton Stewart of Lewisburg; a granddaughter, Ashley Danielle Stewart of Lewisburg; five sisters, Ellen (William) Boshers of Petersburg, Linda L. Joyce and Shirley Hedrick, both of Lewisburg, Helen Peters and Erma Blalock, both of Columbia; three brothers, Charles E. Blalock, Douglas C. Blalock and Joe Blalock, all of Lewisburg; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her only child, Terry Wayne Stewart, October 30, 1991 and a sister, Sylvia Gail Edwards. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
