Mrs. Marylou Hudson Mirabito, 61, retired dental hygienist and resident of Windermere Drive, died Monday, September 15, 2003, at Maury Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 A.M. Thursday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with The Rev. Thomas S. Wilson, Dr. William Malone and Gary Hudson officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Wednesday from 4:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Woodard Elementary School Library, 207 Rutherford Lane, Columbia, Tennessee, 38401, or Shoals Christian School Building Fund, 301 Heathrow Drive, Florence, Alabama, 35633. Notes of sympathy may be made to www.oakesandnichols.com. The Medina, New York native was the daughter of Francis D. Hudson and Ann Cotter Hudson of Palmetto, Florida. She received an Associates Degree in Dental Hygiene from State University and Technical Institutes of New York at Farmingdale. She had worked for twenty-seven years as dental hygienist with Dr. Malone. Mrs. Mirabito was a member of American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Maury County Senior Citizens, and Newcomers Club. She was an avid genealogist and had traveled to England and Italy in search of family. She actually found family stones in Castle Donington, England. Very active in Girl Scouts, she had served as Brownie, Junior & Cadette Leader, Program Consultant, Junior Consultant and Troop Organizer. She served on the Board of Directors for the Cumberland Valley Girl Scout Council from January 1982 - December 1984. She attended an Adult Girl Scout workshop in Cuernavacca, Mexico at Our Cabana and had received the Thanks Badge and Cumberland Valley Daisy pin. In addition to her parents she is survived by her husband, Thomas A. Mirabito of Columbia; three daughters, Mary Beth (Calvin) Durham of Florence, Alabama; Julie Ann (Joseph) Wicker of Austin, Texas; Amy Lynn (Damon) Reed of Birmingham, Alabama; one son, Thomas James Mirabito of Columbia; one sister, Linda (Jack) Hansler of Medina, New York; one brother, Gary (Cathy) Hudson of Rochester, New York; and five grandchildren, Mary Caitlin Durham, Matthew Durham, Anthony Mirabito, Abby Reed and Emily Wicker. Pallbearers will be Dr. David Williams, Jay Coston, Bill Hendry, Todd Hansler, Scott Hudson, Charles Morgan and Dr. William Malone. Special thanks to the staff of Columbia Oncology and the staff of the oncology wing at Maury Regional Hospital.
