Mrs. Mattie Belle Martin Breece, 94, homemaker and resident of 6th Avenue, died Thursday, February 25, 2016 at Life Care Center of Columbia. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 2:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Reverend Jim Norton officiating. Burial will follow in Friendship Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Saturday from 4:00 - 6:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Perry Martin and Jane Jett Martin. On April 5, 1942 she married Clyde Buford Breece who preceded her in death on October 24, 1974. In her younger years she worked for Woodbine's Dress Shop. Mrs. Breece was a member of Riverside United Methodist Church.Survivors include her daughters, Bonnie Belle Bellar of Nashville, and Patsy Burns of Lyles; grandchildren, Lisa Helie of Smyrna, Bryan (Kelley) Bellar of Nolensville, Tonya (Kevin) Dunnof Kingston Springs; great grandchildren, Bailey Bellar, Abigail Bellar, Ethan Dunn, and Matthew Dunn; sisters, Peggy (Jr) Palbas of Culleoka, Gail Fitzgerald of Nashville; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her sisters, Dorothy Church, Christine Dodson, Mary Eberle, and Mabel Muncy; brothers, Charlie Martin and Earl Martin.Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
