Mattie Lou Ingrum Grimmett

Mrs. Mattie Lou Ingrum Grimmett, 79, resident of Williamsport, died Monday, August 18, 2008 at NHC Healthcare of Columbia. Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Jack Taylor and Elmer Crosby officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 4 - 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Davidson County native was the daughter of the late Charles D. Ingrum and Mattie Lewis Ingrum. She was married to Lewis Lee Grimmett who preceded her in death February 7, 1993. She was a graduate of Columbia Central High School and Columbia Business College. Mrs. Grimmett was a member of the Williamsport Home Demonstration Club and the Dimple of the Universe Camping Club. She was a member of Highland Park Baptist Church. Survivors include one daughter, Jan (Ricky) Sims of Williamsport; two sons, Wayne (Teresa) Grimmett of Centerville and Jerry (Patsy) Grimmett of Columbia; one sister, Charlene (Jack) Taylor of Mt. Pleasant; one sister-in-law, Jean Ingrum of Franklin; five grandchildren, Josh Grimmett, Tracey Grimmett, Becky (Shane) Willoughby, Joey (Kayla) Sims, Will (Brittney) Sims; and one great-grandson, Dalen Sims. She was preceded in death by a brother, Lewis Ingrum of Williamsport. Pallbearers will be Joey Sims, Will Sims, Josh Grimmett, Mike Taylor, Steve Taylor, Billy Ring, Kenny Waldrum and Shane Willoughby.
