Mary Louise Gray Young, 87, died Tuesday, April 8, 2025 at her residence surrounded by her devoted family.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, April 13, 2025 at 3:00 PM at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Pastor Lang Ingram officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home.

Louise was born on March 4, 1938 in Maury County, TN to the late Ulna Gray and the late Maggie Dial Gray. She graduated from Columbia Central High School in 1956 and on March 30, 1960 she married Robert “Bobby” Young and he preceded her in death on July 1, 2020. Louise worked several years for Dixie Manufacturing as a seamstress. She loved puzzle books, watching Family Feud, country music, red birds and planting flowers and was a long time member of First Church of the Nazarene.

Survivors include her daughter Candy Young Baxter of Columbia; granddaughter Jennifer (J.R.) Diehl of Lynnville; great grandsons, Jerry Russell Diehl, III of Lynnville, Landon Church of Lewisburg, and Robert Pierce of Pulaski; great granddaughter Madison Diehl of Lynnville; siblings, Sam (Rhonda) Gray of Texas, Judy Gray of Columbia, and Debbie (Joe) Wiley of Columbia; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a grandson Bryan Pierce; son in law Charles “Buddy” Baxter; and a brother J.C. Gray.

Pallbearers will be Joe Wiley, Terry Gray, Jimmy Haywood, Dale Davidson, Mark Deloy, William Baxter, and Logan Baxter.
