Mayon Derryberry Pfieffer Foster

Mrs. Mayon Derryberry Pfieffer Foster, 80, retired store manager for Sterchi Furniture Company and resident of Manor Road, died Friday, July 30, 2004, at Maury Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Monday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Thomas Vann, Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Morton Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Sunday after 4:00 P.M. and Monday after 12:00 noon at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the 40-8/LaFemme Nurses Training Scholarship. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. A lifetime resident of Maury County, she was the daughter of the late O. B. Derryberry and Maysel Hardison Derryberry. She was first married to Joseph John Pfieffer who preceded her in death on March 13, 1985, and later married Joe Foster who lives in Columbia. Mrs. Foster was a 1941 graduate of Columbia Central High School. She had attended New Life Christian Church and was a member of Maury Regional Hospital Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary, La Femme, and Daughters of the Confederacy. In addition to her husband, she is survived by one daughter, Teresa Pfieffer McClure of Columbia; four sons, Jimmy (Carrie) Pfieffer of Mystic, Connecticut; Bobby Pfieffer of Antioch; Joseph Pfieffer, II, of Columbia; Michael (Sisse) Pfieffer of Franklin; two stepdaughters, Anita Jo Foster of Columbia; Pamela (Roger) Brown of Nashville; close family friend, Dorothy Mosley of Columbia; eight grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and two step grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Carlton Derryberry and James Derryberry. Pallbearers will be Brian McClure, Michael McClure, Scott Pfieffer, Roger Brown, Shae Pfieffer, and Scott Nichols. Honorary pallbearers will be Ladies American Legion Auxiliary, 40-8/LaFemme, and Maury Regional Hospital Auxiliary.
