Mrs. Melbia Jean Norman Potts, 77, resident of Carter's Creek Pike, died Thursday, December 28, 2006 at her residence.Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Monday at Oakes & Nichols with Terry Peery officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.A native of Cullman, Alabama, she was the daughter of the late Ed Norman and Hazel Miller Norman Bratton. She was a member of West Point Cumberland Presbyterian Church.She was married December 23, 1950 to James Clint Potts, who preceded her in death March 11, 1994.Survivors include a daughter, Norma "Cookie" (Douglas) Boshers of Columbia; three sons, Terry (Christine) Potts, Tim (Lisa) Potts, and David Potts, all of Columbia; five grandchildren, Robyn Boshers of Chicago, Illinois, Taylor Potts, Garrett Potts, Brandon Potts, and Jonathon Potts, all of Columbia; and her beloved dog, Gretchen.Active pallbearers are Johnny Andrews, Anthony Sims, Terry Brewer, Eric Hileman, Wayne Williams, and Jason Carpenter. Honorary pallbearers include Dr. Jim Kelley, Leon Boshers, the Columbia Police Department, Columbia Fire Department, Maury County Sheriff's Department, Maury Rural Fire Department, and members of West Point Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
