Micheal Ted Barnes, 59, well known self-employed electrician, plumber, and HVAC technician, died Monday, November 27, 2017 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 11:00 A.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with his brother-in-law, Tim McGehee officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Hill Cemetery with Ricky Clay officiating. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Ted enjoyed attending mule pulling's and hunting. A family man, he loved spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Mr. Barnes was a member of Theta Church of Christ. Survivors include his wife, whom he married September 28, 1984, Martha Smith Barnes of Columbia; children, Michelle (Mike) Rochester; Michelle (Scott) Vance; Layne (Lindsey) Barnes; Jessica (Justin) Wallace; Jamie Olmstead; and Jack Boles; grandchildren, Shawn (Emily) Rochester; Wesley (Lily) Rochester; Raymond (Brittney) Rochester; Bryson Barnes; and Thatcher Barnes; great grandchildren, Wyatt Rochester; and Whitley Rochester on the way; sister, Kim (Tim) McGehee; sister-in-law, Mildred Culberson; nieces, Hannah (Mark) Brown; and Katie Beth McGehee; nephew, James Culberson; great nieces, Davina Culberson; and Shea Culberson; honorary mother and father, O.N. & Kat King; and step mother, Faye Barnes. Active pallbearers will be Layne Barnes, Jamie Olmstead, Freddie Lancaster, Jay Green, Roscoe Williams, Jerry Petty, Bill Brown, C.J. Brown, and Edward Jones. Honorary pallbearers include Shawn Rochester, Wesley Rochester, Raymond Rochester, Bryson Barnes, Thatcher Barnes, Justin Wallace, Scott Vance, and Kenny Black. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Wallace and Helen Woody.
