Mrs. Mildred Jeter Blocker, 94, retired seamstress and former longtime resident of Andrews Street, died Wednesday, August 2, 2006, at Rosewood Manor. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Saturday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Calvin Lunn officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Friday from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. and Saturday after 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Wilbur Bell Jeter and Martha Lee Webb Jeter. She was married to Eunice Blocker who preceded her in death. Mrs. Blocker was employed for several years at Tennessee Knitting Mills. She was a member of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Survivors include nieces and nephews, Jimmy (Ellen) Rodgers, Johnny Rodgers, Carolyn (Wayne) Hickman, all of Columbia; Ronnie (Shirley) Hamilton of Antioch; Nancy (Freddie) Fitzgerald of Murfreesboro; Diane (Eddie) Crosby of Canton, Georgia; Michael Jeter of Woodstock; and several great nieces and great nephews. Pallbearers will be Wayne Hickman, Jimmy Rodgers, Johnny Rodgers, Ronnie Hamilton, Freddie Fitzgerald, Clyde Yeager, Bobby Yeager, Houston Jones, Mike Jeter, and Eddie Crosby. Honorary pallbearers will be members of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church and her caregivers at Rosewood Manor.
