Born March 1, 1924 in Maury County, she was the daughter of the late Lloyd Vernon Foster and the late Elizabeth Butler Foster. Her husband of thirty-eight years, Henry Edwin Church, preceded her in death December 17, 1984. For several years, she had worked as sales clerk at National Store, J. C. Penney, and Parks-Belk. Mrs. Church was a direct descendant of Nashville patriarch Timothy Demonbreun and was a member of the Timothy Demonbreun Society. She was very interested in genealogy and kept obit records for several cemeteries; but most dear to her heart was Neapolis Cemetery where she served as historian and sexton for many years. She enjoyed being outside working in her flower garden or taking care of her cows, "her babies", which she kept until forced to sell last summer. Survivors include her daughter, Susan Church (Harry) Lynn of Bella Vista, Arkansas; sister, Dorothy Smith of Memphis; granddaughters, Betsy Lynn (John) Lange of Grafton, Wisconsin and Molly Suzanne Lynn of Riverside, Missouri; great grandchildren, Ian Dalton Lange and Shelby Clair Lange, both of Grafton, Wisconsin; several nieces and nephews including Mary Jane Brooks, Michael "Mickey" Smith, and Donnie Smith. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Margaret White Lynch and Alice Foster Woodard.
