View Funeral Webcast Mrs. Mildred Crosby, 94, resident of Lookout Drive, died Friday, August 6, 2021 at her residence. A graveside service for Mrs. Crosby will be conducted Saturday, August 14th at 12:30 p.m. at Polk Memorial Gardens with Jason Crosby officiating. The family will visit with friends at the graveside from 12:00 p.m. until time of the service. Masks are recommended. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. Born November 27, 1926 she was the daughter of the late Patrick Dixon and the late Zelma Tindell Dixon. On April 14, 1946 she married Reverend Elmer Crosby who preceded her in death in July 9, 2014. At age 62, she became a certified professional secretary and retired from the Department of Human Resources for the State of Tennessee where she worked as an Administrative Assistant for 45 years. She had many interests which included growing plants, singing in church choirs and a devotion to Christian education. She was a member of Northside Baptist Church and was also a member of the Woman’s Mission Union. Survivors include her sons, William E. (Finise) Crosby of Huntsville, Alabama and Mike (Jean Kelly) Crosby of Brentwood; grandchildren, Jason Crosby, Lauren Thompson, Brad Crosby, Kelly Crosby, Katie Gore, Karli Eubanks, Daniel McMinn, Patrick McMinn, and Chris McMinn; eight great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, LeRoy Dixon and Raymond Dixon; and a sister, Betty Neal. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Memorials may be made to Northside Baptist Church 127 Theta Pike Columbia, Tennessee 38401.
