Mildred Joyce Davidson Foreman

Mildred Joyce Davidson Foreman, 86, died Wednesday, October 19, 2016, at The Bridge at Life Care Center where she had made her home since 2011. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 10:00 A.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Irwin officiating. The family will visit with friends Friday from 5:00 - 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. A graveside service will be held Saturday at 2:30 P.M. at Rose Hill Cemetery in Humboldt, Tennessee. Born November 12, 1929 in Madison County, she was the daughter of the late William Larry Scott Davidson and the late Lola Irene Jackson Davidson. On October 20, 1950, she married Penn S. Foreman, Sr., who preceded her in death February 28, 2003. She graduated in 1950 from Methodist School of Nursing in Memphis. Mrs. Foreman was active in her church, First United Methodist Church in Lewisburg. Wherever she lived, her flower gardens were the envy of the neighborhood. She was also known for her quilting and other sewing skills. But most of all, Mrs. Foreman was known for her kindness and gentle spirit. Survivors include her daughters, Cynthia (Ted) Choate of Columbia; Kathryn Foreman of Tallahassee, Florida; son, Penn (Susan) Foreman, Jr. of Huntsville, Alabama; sister, Patsy Elkins of Hernando, Mississippi; eight grandchildren; two great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; brother-in-law & sister-in-law, Jesse & Wilmoth Foreman; and sister-in-law, Faye Hardin. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by infant children, Patricia Faye Foreman and Larry Penn Foreman; and sister, Mary Helen Dobbins. Pallbearers will be Justin Grabowski, Nathan Grabowski, Eli Foreman, Marc Pearson, and Andy Spears. The family would like to express a special thank you to her sitters, Gladys Williams, Valarie Gant, Denise Gant, Beverly Moore, Brittany Gant, and the staff of The Bridge at Life Care Center.
