Mrs. Mildred Murphy Jobe, 94, resident of Sheddan Drive, died Friday, March 31, 2006 at the Lakeshore Wedgewood in Nashville. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 11:00 a.m. at Oakes & Nichols with John Vaughan and Wendell Robinson officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Senior Ministry of Graymere Church of Christ, 1320 Trotwood Avenue, Columbia 38401. Notes of sympathy may be sent towww.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Miles Phineas Murphy and Mary Susan Hickman Murphy. She was a graduate of Culleoka High School and earned her B.A. Degree from Bowling Green Business University in 1934. For 30 years Mrs. Jobe served as administrative secretary at Columbia Military Academy. She was a long-time member of Graymere Church of Christ. She was married August 25, 1962 to Sloan Jobe, long-time Maury County teacher and coach. Mr. Jobe died May 30, 1985. Survivors include four nieces, Susan (David) McQueen of Huntsville, Alabama, Nancy (Michael) Lewis of Nashville, Jean Shafer of Hattiesburg, Mississipi, Vicki (Arni) Murphy-Kendall of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; two nephews, Jim (Cathy) Corder of Brentwood and Al (Ruth) Murphy of Old Hickory; fifteen grandnieces and grandnephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Evelyn Murphy Corder and two brothers, J. C. Murphy and Pete Murphy. Pallbearers are David McQueen, Noah McQueen, James Corder, Clinton Corder, Michael Lewis and Ben Lewis.
