View Funeral Service Webcast Miss Mildred Johnson, 86, long-time resident of Pulaski Highway in the McCains Community and retired from Tennessee Knitting Mills and Weather Tamer, died Saturday, January 10, 2009 at NHC Columbia. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 1:00 p.m at Oakes & Nichols with Rev. Tony Brown officiating. Burial will be in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Monday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Bigbyville United Methodist Church, c/o Jack Chism, 603 Edenburg Drive, Columbia 38401. Born in Hickman County, she was the daughter of the late William Clarence Johnson and Mary Ella Moore Johnson and long-time active member of Bigbyville United Methodist Church. Survivors include a sister, Robbie Johnson Weatherford of Columbia; a brother, Harold Johnson of Columbia; nieces and nephews, Gary (Ann) Weatherford, Kenneth (Charlene) Johnson, Tanna (Randy) Carroll, Ricky Johnson, Patsy (Jim) Young, Sandra (Glenn) Pierce, Pam Sealy, Ray (Regina) Flowers, and Nancy (Joe) Hopper; several great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Flowers, brothers, Paul Johnson and W. A. Johnson; sisters-in-law, Era Dell Johnson and Roberta Johnson; brother-in-law, Gerald Weatherford. Active pallbearers are Gary Weatherford, Kenneth Johnson, Ricky Johnson, Ray Flowers, Glenn Pierce, Jim Young, Joe Hopper, Randy Carroll, Tony Massey, John Boyd Cothran, and James Boshers. Honorary pallbearers include Wayne Hickman, M. T. Potts, W. N. Pulley, and the congregation of Bigbyville United Methodist Church.
