Mildred Potts Owens

Mrs. Mildred Adell Potts Owens, 88, resident of Fly Road in the Santa Fe Community, died Tuesday, July 4, 2006 at Maury Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 10:30 a.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Thomas Gordon officiating. Burial will be in the Santa Fe Cemetery.The family will visit with friends Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Notes of sympathy may be sent to www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Walter Preston Potts and Nila Kelley Potts and a member of Hilltown Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Freeman Owens, July 8, 1994; two sisters, Creola Nicholson and Marie Clark, and two brothers, Lester Potts and Vernon Potts. Survivors include a daughter, Linda (Thomas) Gordon of Santa Fe; three sons, Gerald Wayne (Ann Marie) Owens of Arlington, Virginia, Dean (Sara) Owens of Williamsport and Doris (Ogeline) Owens of Hohenwald; fourteen grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Active pallbearers are Donnie Gordon, Ronnie Gordon, Johney Owens, Michael Bailey, Brandon Bailey, and Justin Gordon. Men of Hilltown Church of Christ will serve as honorary pallbearers.
