Mora B Baxter

Mr. Mora B. Baxter, 93, resident of Snow Creek Road, died Monday, March 24, 2008 at Columbia Care & Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Lloyd Edward Baxter, Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Baxter Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. until time of service. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Hickman County native was the son of the late James Simpson Baxter and Lillian Rosie Riley Baxter. In 1937 he married Addie Bishop Baxter who preceded him in death in 2004. Mr. Baxter was retired from GM in Detroit, Michigan. He was a member of Kettle Mills Church of Christ. He is survived by a son, Mora B. Baxter, Jr. of Santa Fe; one daughter, Alice Jean (Glenn) Mash of Hampshire; 5 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a daughter, June Flannigan; one sister, Janie Bishop; and 9 brothers, Lloyd Baxter, Sr., Arthur Baxter, Jessie Baxter, Howard Baxter, George Baxter, Simpson Baxter, Doyle Baxter, Egbert Baxter and Herbert Baxter. Pallbearers will be Glenn Mash, Jr., Terry Mash, Lloyd Baxter, III, Charles Edward Collins, Kent Romine and Les Baker. Honorary pallbearers will be Lewis Hann, Randy Baxter and Gene Ray Baxter.
