Mr. Elijah James Trimble, 91, retired maintenance supervisor for Bell South, died Wednesday, May 9, 2007 at Life Care Center. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Darrell Trimble and Doug Brown officiating. Burial will be in Jameson-Roundtree-McKee Cemetery with military honors provided by Herbert Griffin American Legion Post #19. The family will visit with friends Friday from 5 - 8 p.m. at the funeral home. The family requests that memorials be made to the charity of your choice. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the son of the late Joe Lee Trimble and Carrie Stanley Trimble. In 1940 he married Margaret Kinnard Trimble who preceded him in death February 4, 1997. He served in the U.S. Army (Signal Corps) during World War II. Mr. Trimble was employed by Bell South for 47 years and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers. He was a member of Berea Church of Christ. Survivors include one son, Dewey (Jane) Trimble of Garland, Texas; one granddaughter, Katie (Jarret) Eubanks of Richardson, Texas; and two sisters-in-law, Velma Trimble and Clara Trimble. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Madeline Fitzgerald, Suzie Trimble and three brothers, Robert Trimble, Stanley Trimble and Joe Lee Trimble. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be Harold Petty, Larry McKensie, Doug Brown, Thomas Dillard Newman, Richard Bramlett, Charlie Bruce and men of Berea Church of Christ.
