Mrs. Marion Estes Harlow Cothran, 94, resident of Pulaski Highway in the McCains Community, died Wednesday, September 14, 2005 at Maury Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Friday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Bradley officiating. Burial will be in Hopewell Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Thursday after 3 p.m. and Friday from 1-3 p.m. at the funeral home. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Marion Ledbetter Harlow and Lucy Cornellia Moore Harlow. She attended Mynders School and graduated from Columbia Central High School in 1929. She was married to John Boyd Cothran, Sr. who preceded her in death September 7, 1970. Mrs. Cothran was a retired nurse technician at Hillview Haven Nursing Home and later provided private sitting for the elderly. She was a real daughter of the United Daughters of the Confederacy, her father having fought in the Civil War. She was a member of Hopewell Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church. Survivors include two daughters, Dorothy Ann (Wayne) Hickman of McCains, Catherine Jane (Wayne) Davis of Hohenwald; one son, John Boyd Cothran, Jr. of McCains; 7 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and 1 step-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by one sister, Lois Harlow Weatherford and one great-granddaughter, Olivia Grace Davis. Pallbearers will be Jim Boshers, Harold Johnson, Jim Patterson, Craig Patterson, Robert Whitley, Don Osborne, Joe Osborne and John Moser. Honorary pallbearers will be men of Hopewell Church.
