Mrs Mildred Irene Harmon Shipley

Mrs. Mildred Irene Harmon Shipley, 86, died Thursday, February 21, 2008 at the home of her daughter on the Pulaski Pike. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 8:00 pm. (EST) at Ailor Mortuary in Maynardsville. Private family graveside services will be conducted Sunday at Dasley Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Saturday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday at Ailor Mortuary. Oakes & Nichols Funeral Directors are in charge of local arrangements. Notes of sympathy may be sent to www.oakesandnichols.com. The Union County native was the daughter of the late Luther Harmon and Nora Archer Harmon and a member of the Baptist Church. Survivors include two daughters, Jean Ferguson of Morristown and Susie (Vince) Vinson of Columbia; two sons, Edward Shipley of Mascot and Jerry (Diane) Shipley of Halls; two sisters, Joann (Frank) Ryan and Christine Graves of Kokoma; two brothers, James (Frances) Harmon of Maryville and Frank (Joan) Harmon of Blaine. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Myra Ann Shipley and Patsy Cartwright and a son, Jack Shipley. Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
