Mrs. Nina Pearl Whitworth Cannady, 92, resident of East 17th Street, died Monday, November 22, 2004 at Life Care Center. Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 noon Wednesday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Larry Benderman officiating. Burial will be in Lynnwood Cemetery. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Richard Melvin Whitworth and Dora Arney Whitworth. She was married to Thomas Cannady who preceded her in death July 7, 1955. She had been employed by Tennessee Knitting Mills and retired from Maury Manufacturing. She was a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Gloria Jean Lewter of Ardmore; two sons, Alton Dwayne (Geraldine) Cannady of Athens, Alabama and Herbert Gordon Cannady of Columbia; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-eight great-grandchildren; ten great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Janice Thurman and Barbara Lovell; two brothers, Arlis Whitworth and Wilburn Whitworth; and two sisters, Alma Mangrum and Mable Lentz. Pallbearers will be Michael Cannady, Jeffrey Cannady, Morris Thurman, Jr., Carlton Thurman, Kelvin Thurman, Darrell Demastus and Will Cannady.
