Mrs. Annie Ruth Scribner Ricketts, 79, resident of Pulaski Pike, died Wednesday, September 14, 2005 at NHC Columbia. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Thomas M. Scott officiating. Entombment will be in Polk Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. The family will visit with friends Friday after 3 p.m. at the funeral home. On August 18, 1945 she married John Howard Ricketts who preceded her in death May 15, 2005. She was a retired as a cashier at Piggly Wiggly Super Market. Mrs. Ricketts was a member of Faith Freewill Baptist Church. Survivors include one daughter, Katrina (Mike) Bergman of Columbia; two sons, Gerald Wayne (Linda) Ricketts of Murfreesboro, Ronald Blaine (Deborah) Ricketts of Columbia; one sister, Sara Elizabeth Hopper of Pelham, Alabama; 9 grandchildren, Joel Stephen (Rebecca) Ricketts, Benjamin Ricketts, Wesley (fiancée, Stephanie Pilkinton) Ricketts, Rachael (Jeff) Yearwood, Sonya (David Blackwell) Clem, Sharon (Eric) Hileman, Derek Smith, Brantley (fiance, John Gilliam) Bergman, James Michael Bergman, Jr.; 4 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Joel Ricketts, Ben Ricketts, Wesley Ricketts, Michael Bergman, Jr., Derek Smith and John Gilliam. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Darrel Rinehart and employees of NHC Columbia.
