Myrna Gaye Brooks, 75, passed away Saturday, January 15, 2022 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 6:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home The family will visit with friends Thursday from 4:00 P.M. until service time at the funeral home. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. Born September 20, 1946 in Maury County, she was the daughter of the late Wallace Brooks and the late Agnes McCaleb Brooks. Myrna was known as a “smart lady who never married.” She enjoyed working at Saturn, then Southern Accents and Antiques, and also at a few local bars (Wayside and Golden Eagle), where her loud and wild reputation proceeded itself. Myrna loved and lived every day for her family. She was a lover of all things beautiful, vintage, and western. She was a reader of romance novels and murder mysteries. Survivors include her daughter, Victoria Brooks Harmon; granddaughter, Somer Harmon (John) Ray; great grandson, Stetson Maddox Ray; brothers, Ray (Karen) Brooks, Clifford (Brenda) Brooks; and many nieces and nephews, who she was so proud of and biggest behind the scenes supporter. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Joyce Holder; and nephew, John Dawson “Bubba” Holder.
