Myron Goodrum Burgess, Jr., 80, retired since 1995 as quality control inspector for Inter-City Products and resident of Lynnville, died Saturday, July 5, 2008 at NHC Hillview. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Brother Milton Stephens officiating. Burial will be in Lynnwood Cemetery in Lynnville. The family will visit with friends Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. to service time at the funeral home. Notes of sympathy may be sent to www.oakesandnichols.com. The Giles County native was the son of the late Myron Goodrum Burgess, Sr. and Lola Hatfield Burgess and 1945 graduate of Beech Hill High School. He was a member and Deacon of Lynnville Church of Christ. Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Earline Ashton Burgess of Lynnville; daughter, Lori (Jeff) Bowman of Nashville; sons, Travis (Debbie) Burgess of Florence, Alabama, Keith (Lisa) Burgess of Lewisburg, and David (Donna) Burgess of Murfreesboro; granddaughters, Carolyn (David) Sellers and Allissa Bowman; grandsons, Dan (Leann) Burgess, Jon (Rebecca) Burgess, Matt (Whitney) Burgess, Ben Burgess, Patrick Burgess, Bill Burgess, and Jordan Burgess; great-granddaughter, Ava Burgess; sister, Joanne (George) Wingett of Nashville; brother, Paul (Louise) Burgess of Goodlettsville; nieces, Nicole Burgess and Debbie (Terry) Bunnell; nephew, Lanny Burgess. He was preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law, Dwayne (Elaine Young) Burgess; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Wilma and Owen Ashton; a sister-in-law, Elaine Young Burgess. Mr. Burgess' grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
