Nancy Lee Claiborne

Nancy Lee Burge Claiborne, 62, former employee of Shoney's Restaurant, died Friday, June 23, 2006, at Columbia Care & Rehabilitation. A graveside service will be conducted at 3:00 P.M. Sunday at Gibsonville Cemetery in Giles County. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 12:00 noon - 2:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Williamson County native was the daughter of the late N. L. "Shorty" Burge and Viola Sweeney Burge. She had taught school in Georgia where she made her home for several years. Survivors include her husband, Robert Claiborne of Gray, Georgia; two daughters, Leanna (Rickie) Gordon of Warner Robbins, Georgia; Vivian (Stanley) Rose of Pulaski; two sons, Walter (Nancy) Claiborne and Andy Claiborne, both of Fort Valley, Georgia; four sisters, Florence (Rayburn) Hickman and Patricia (Larry) Ambrose, both of Lynnville; LaNelle (Bill) Roberts of Lewisburg; Bobbi Jean Mosley of Warner Robbins, Georgia; one brother, Earl (Peggy) Burge of Franklin; seven grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Mary Elizabeth and John Washington Burge. Pallbearers will be Terry Hickman, Kerry Burge, Larry Ambrose, Greg Roberts and Tyler Hickman. Flower bearers will be her special nephews, Jesse Lelan Hickman and Zack Taylor Hickman.
