Mrs. Nancy Sue Ammerman Dorris, 79, resident of Trotwood Avenue, died Tuesday, July 18, 2006 at Maury Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Bobby Sands officiating. Burial will be in Polk Memorial Gardens. The Franklin native was the daughter of the late Hugh Turner Ammerman and Anna Craig Ammerman. She was a graduate of Lipscomb High School. She worked briefly for the State of Tennessee before her marriage. Survivors include her husband, W.B. "Hop" Dorris of Columbia; one sister, Mrs. Sally Ammerman Novak of Nashville; one brother Hugh Turner Ammerman of Mt. Airy, North Carolina; four nieces; and three nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Jimmy Dorris and one sister, Frances Ammerman Jarrett. Pallbearers will be Hugh Turner Ammerman, Jr., Hugh Turner Ammerman, III, Hue Novak, Stan Napier, Tim Napier and Ron Miller.
